Meet The Cast of Hip Hop High -The Musical
Sahmahrah Gulliame
Sahmahrah Guillaume was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island in New York. At the
tender age of four she began dancing and modeling with the Venettes Cultural Workshop Dance
Studio (VCW). Sahmahrah attended Long Island High School for the Arts, (LIHSA). The VCW
provided Sahmahrah with strong foundations in tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, African, and
ballet, while giving her exposure to top industry choreographers during her VCW trips to Dance
Olympus and the Pusle on tour. Sahmahrah received various scholarships through VCW along
with acceptance into the Joffrey Ballet Summer Program to expand her dance training. She
graduated with a diploma in Dance with core training in ballet, theater jazz, modern and
improvisational acting. While at LIHSA, she also studied dance history, mock auditions, and
physiology and anatomy, which prepared her for future auditions. Throughout the years,
Sahmahrah has been training with the Broadway Dance Center, the Ailey Extension, and Ripley
Grier. She also teaches ballet and modern at VCW and various other dance schools. Her recent
work with Carnival Cruise Lines as a "Dancer Who Sings" has allowed her to blend together her
acting, singing, and dancing by performing in three full production shows choreographed and
directed by some of Broadway's best directors. During the grand opening of the Carnival
Studios she was interviewed and featured by the Sun Sentinel for her unique start on cruise
ships. Before becoming a professional dancer in the spring of 2017, Sahmahrah worked on Wall
Street. While assisting her boss in securing talent and award recipients for her company's
annual fundraising gala she realized that she wanted to be the talent not book it. After the
conclusion of her most recent contract with Carnival Cruise Lines, she has been training vocally
with Colleen Hawks and is excited to be living her dreams. When Sahmahrah isn't performing or
training, she enjoys teaching dance, blogging about her life and travels, reading, performing
community service, and praising with her youth group. Sahmahrah is inspired by artists who
unapologetically share themselves and go after what they believe in. She's also inspired by her
mentors, which includes her father who instills in her confidence and the power of being
educated.
"Whether Great or small we've all had to conquer a battle. We are more than our adversaries
and the fear that cripples us in moments of doubt"
-Sahmahrah
